My Legs Can Be Stubborn Sometimes
My legs can be so stubborn at times!
Mind over matter is a real thing when it comes to them & my mind is frequently having to tell them who’s boss & put them back in line!
I’ve been keeping up with running lately, but have neglected consistent strength training for over a year now. Starting #75Hard requires 2 workouts a day lasting 45 minutes at least each.
Yesterday, I did quite a few squats & lunges holding weights in my hands, so this morning, when I wanted to run my five miles, my legs attempted to be bossy & whiney.
You can always get your body under control if you decide to preserve. It took me 2 & a half miles this morning before my legs would give in & start acting right!
This happens to me when I take time off of running too. It’s like attempting to get a team of wild Clydesdales together! It usually takes roughly 2 miles before my legs start to mind me!
When I ran a marathon in Bastrop, Texas 2 mother’s days ago, it was over 80 degrees for the first time, sun was blazing (not my favorite), it was mountainous terrain, that was pretty sketchy here & there! I fell & wiped out once & had to stop multiple times. My body learned to stop that day, so when I went back to regular, daily, running, my body was like “But, but, but….” It happens THAT fast!
You are mentally in control of your body no matter what. It will mind what you want if you insist & preserve! Just keep going! You’re in charge! You’re the master!
