How I Got Into Real Estate

The way I got into Real Estate was for a very arrogant reason! I had been going to Nursing school at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, and moved back home to Houston. When I reapplied to Nursing school here in Texas, they told me they wanted me to retake all my biologies from my nursing prerequisites. "Excuse me? I'm already in nursing school. Did cells start dividing differently? Did cell respiration change? Does DNA now have an additional helix?" I was pretty irritated, and it felt like hazing to take all my biologies again.

I was watching "Million Dollar Listing New York" on Bravo, and I loved Fredrik Eklund. He was quite entertaining, I liked his story, and he got away with a lot of nonsense. I felt like if he could fly to the United States from Sweeden with $5. in his pocket, and become a leading Real Estate Broker in the world....maybe I had a shot!

My kids were just about to get out of school for the summer, so I took the classes online day and night. I killed myself doing it for a whole week. I got it done, and took my licensing exam the next week! After all the processing was done, July 2013, I was a brand new real estate agent in the state of Texas!

I still love Fredrik. I took one of his classes shortly after I became an agent. One night, while watching "Million Dollar Listing New York" He was frustrated with a listing he had on Bowery. I tweeted out that I became an agent because of him, and he tweeted me back!!! "Aw...That makes me so happy!" THAT made me so happy!
